Redefining the KANBAN workflow
TeDaLoS GmbH (Vienna – Austria) and re-order-it B.V. (Amersfoort – the Netherlands) signed an agreement to connect the innovative smart electronic KANBAN board from re-order-it to TeDaLoS’ Smart Inventory Monitoring Platform.
TeDaLoS has become the leading standard software in Europe to utilize automation technology and smart devices for inventory monitoring and demand recognition. The Platform not only includes device management, but focuses on standard business procedures that are required for sensor based re-order-triggering or electronic KANBAN systems, like assigning material and cost center to sensors, adding re-order-thresholds and mapping of bin-IDs in an online interface.
With a forecasted global annual growth of greater than 10% of smart devices and a growing number of system manufacturers in the area of stock monitoring, introducing a central platform to manage a diverse range of technologies, protocols and vendors has become crucial for industrial users. While TeDaLoS provides standard APIs to connect business data to IT-Systems like ERP or Order-Management software, users become independent of their actual and future choice of stock monitoring and capturing technology – avoiding operation of parallel platforms, multiple IT integrations or frequent trainings.
Re-order-it has a growing customer base in the Health Care sector utilizing their smart KANBAN board to track the replenishment needs of materials. Users take the ID-Card from the stockposition when they perceive a replenishment demand and simply place it at the KANBAN -Board, typically being mounted close to the shelves saving walking and spent time to notify for demand. While the KANBAN-Board is equipped with RFID technology to read the ID cards wirelessly, it includes a reader to recognize user ID and a touch screen to provide visual feedback on detected material demand.
The cooperation between TeDaLoS and re-order-it makes the easy to use method of KANBAN cards and board accessible to users in industrial sectors like for manufacturers and industrial suppliers. While RFID KANBAN is well known in these sectors in the form of KANBAN bin scanning (a flow of bins, with empty bins being scanned for reordering notification), the re-order-it KANBAN board captures also materials with slow turn-around, or in high density storage or not being suited for multi-bin storage. With the hardware being connected to the TeDaLoS cloud software, users only need to plug the board to a power socket. Setting up customers, cost centers, material master data and mapping to card-ID-numbers is being accomplished by non-expert users in the online dashboard or even fully synchronized via their IT-system.
The Smart Inventory Monitoring Platform enables central management cross-hardware for user identification, conversion of card reading events to business logic and adding A.I for smart replenishment notifications. Users from industrial distribution can provide the platform as whitelabel in their brand to control the technologies for stock management being deployed at their customers’ site – think of stock level sensor, vending machines, smart labels and KANBAN – enabling a 24/7 dashboard for their VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) clients.
