Convincing at Hackathon: voestalpine starts pilot phase at BÖHLER Bleche with TeDaLoS sensors.

The TeDaLoS sensors monitor maintenance goods without contact and automatically report consumption and requirements to purchasing.

For the steel and technology group voestalpine, which is a global leader in technology-intensive industries with the highest quality standards, research and development is the basis for success. The continuous increase in expenses in this area reflects the high value of R&D in the group

The name BÖHLER is synonymous worldwide with stainless steel of the highest quality. The customers are leading companies in future-oriented industrial sectors and highly innovative specialists who not only demand high-performance materials, but also intelligent solutions that expand the limits of what is possible.

TeDaLoS, founded in 2016, is a specialist in self-sufficient and autonomous sensor solutions that are optimized for applications in material flow and inventory monitoring and can be provided as a one-stop solution from the sensor to the leading system. Well-known companies from the automotive industry to mechanical engineering to the food industry and wholesaling in Europe are already using TeDaLoS systems.

In January 2020 the High Performance Metals Division of voestalpine organized the “Digital Metals AI Hackathon” together with Primetals Technologies and the startup scouts “pioneers”. They worked out new digital solutions with Young Talents. One of the tasks was to automatically recognize requirements and needs at an early stage and thus to predict or identify the demand for materials and services, and to reduce manual entries in a software system.

TeDaLoS was able to meet these requirements with its combination of autonomous sensor units and its cloud system. The sensor units in interaction with the cloud system provide information on real stocks, regulate reorders, provide information on temperature fluctuations and can even notify security personnel in the event of theft. TeDaLoS increases transparency and efficiency without long-term commitments, investments, mobility restrictions, process changes or the complex integration into IT systems.

“We are looking forward to the next step with Böhler Bleche, where a pilot project will be installed in the industrial company this year with a focus on maintenance materials.”  gives Thomas Tritremmel, CEO TeDaLoS, an outlook.
